In terms of resolution, few are better than the VA2246M. Featuring a 10 million:1 contrast ratio and full 1080p HD, this monitor is tailor made for gaming. Thanks as well to the fast, 5ms response time, you are able to get this HD gaming and not have to worry about image lag.
While the monitor does feature full HD support, it does not have an option for HDMI, opting instead for just VGA and DVI inputs. While it may not be a problem to everyone, the lack of HDMI will make this monitor a hard choice for some gamers.
The gamers that will love this monitor, however, are those that are energy conscious. This is due to the VA2246M’s LED backlight, which includes an eco-friendly option for less energy consumption. This would make the monitor a good choice for those trying to reduce energy cost, yet still want a good gaming monitor.
While the lack of HDMI may hurt this monitor, the visual quality and energy consumption of the ViewSonic can’t be beat. And for a relativity affordable price, you will get high-quality gaming without the high-quality price.
9. HP Pavilion Extra Wide 23 Inch 1080p Monitor
If you’re looking for a very sleek modern design, then you’ll be hard pressed to find a monitor that looks better in this price range. Looks aside, this is also a 1080p monitor that has just about everything gamer could want. The only con would be its relatively slow 7ms response time

HP has been a major name in the world of computer technology for many years now. With such a big name comes a huge reputation to live up to, but with the HP Pavilion monitor, HP does just that.
To start, unlike our last monitor, HDMI input is an option. This is in addition to having ports for VGA as well as others, giving gamers a multitude of input options. And no matter the option they choose, the HP Pavilion will give gamers crystal clear picture, with full 1920×1080 HD, 16:9 aspect ratio, and other visual capabilities.
The Pavilion XW also comes equipped with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology. This technology allows the user to adjust the picture to whatever angle they may be facing the moniotor. This means that no matter what direction you are facing the monitor in, you will always be able to see the crystal clear picture.
There are some issues in regards to lighting. For some reason not every monitor is as bright as others, with each monitor being different. This is especially obvious in a multiple monitor setup that has two or more Pavilion monitors, where you can sometimes visibly see a difference in brightness between them.
If you plan to use just a single monitor setup, then the HP Pavilion XW performs more than capably. More than living up to the HP name, the Pavilion is a monitor that is a gamer’s best friend.
8. LG Electronics UM57 25UM57 25-Inch Monitor
LG Electronics makes some of the best gaming monitors out there, and the UM57 is easily one of the best monitors under $200. If you’re looking for an ultrawide monitor and don’t mind the missing DVI port, this is a great option.

With the LG name, you are guaranteed to get quality electronic products, no matter if it’s TVs, headsets, and various other products. The same is true for their gaming monitors, as they look to prove with their UM57 model of monitors.
Much like our previous monitor, the UM57 uses IPS technology that allows for better viewing no matter which angle you are looking at the monitor. It does this while using sRGB color, which allows the monitor to display colors that are 99% accurate to their original source. This makes the monitor not only good for gamers, but for those that are in to photography or video editing as well.
In terms of resolution, the UM57 boasts an “Ultrawide” 21:9 aspect ratio, which allows gamers to see even more in their field of vision then ever before. Helping even more to give gamers the best view is the black stabilizer, which always gives gamers the best view, even if they find themselves staring at the blackness of a cave or anything similar. To cap it off, users can even have up to four different windows running on the monitor, without losing any of the resolution quality.
This all comes at a price, though, as the UM57 monitor comes up just around the $200 dollar mark. While there are more than enough reasons for this monitor to cost that much, it doesn’t help for those that may be having some money troubles. It also does not feature a DVI port, which may be a drawback for those using that input.
For what you pay, you get more than enough options to keep you happy for years to come. Giving gamers possible one of the best visual experiences they’ll get from a monitor, the LG UM57 is worth every penny spent.

You do have to be extra careful when handling the GN246HL however. While never a good idea to jostle your gaming monitor too much, this Acer monitor seems to be a bit more fragile than most others, with some even being broken in the box. So it goes without saying that caution should be exercised when moving the monitor.
With the Acer GN246HL, the Acer company has more than outdone themselves. This is the monitor of choice for many gamers, and it’s easy to see why.
6. ASUS VS248H-P 24 inch Monitor
Although the Asus V248H-P isn’t the flashiest monitor, it’s very affordable and a pretty amazing buy for gamers considering it’s specs. If you could care less about looks and just want something that’s just value, this is it.

Much like a few other names on our list, ASUS is one that has become known for the quality computer products they put out. But with other names such as HP, Acer, and LG on the list, how well does the ASUS VS248H-P stand up to the competition?
Much like some other monitors in the price range, the ASUS comes with some amazing visual capabilities. This includes 1920×1080 HD, fast, 2ms response speed, and an amazing 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It even includes HDMI, DVI, and D-Sub input ports, giving gamers great visuals in a multitude of options.
What does make the ASUS unique, however, is the monitors ability to auto-adjust. Using ASUS’ “Splendid Video Intelligence” technology, picture will automatically adjust color, brightness, sharpness and contrast, so that no matter what the situation, gamers will always have the best visual quality possible.
What seems to have hurt, at least a few users of the monitor, is the unit’s longevity. While it has not happened to everyone, some people have claimed that the monitor would stop working in a short time, with some even stopping operation after just five months. Fortunately, this flaw does not seem to afflict the majority of the monitors, so it is likely something you wouldn’t have to worry about.
So to answer the previous question: Yes, ASUS can stand up, and in some cases even beat, their competition. With many features gamers would love, the ASUS is a worthy investment.
5. Dell Gaming Monitor SE2417HG 23.6″ Monitor
While I wouldn’t say that the Dell SE2417HG gaming monitor is my first choice, I will say that it’s a good buy for people who’re looking to switch between their PC and Console often and are looking for an all in one solution.
Check Out Dell Gaming SE2417HG’s Current Price On Amazon
While PC gaming is certainly why we are making this list today, it’s a fact that the majority of gamers still like to play on home consoles. To that end, it would be great to have a monitor that can be used for both, which is why the Dell Gaming Monitor has made the list today.
The Dell is made particularly with gamers of every kind in mind. Featuring multiple inputs for different devices, gamers can hook up both their gaming PC and consoles, and can easily switch between each of them with the press of a button. And both consoles and PC gamers can experience gaming in full 1080p HD and with a fast 2ms response speed.
The dell is also pretty to look at as well. Made with an aluminum painted riser, black finish, and a matte screen, the Dell is a gaming monitor that looks as great as it performs.
Seeing as the monitor is used for both console and PC gaming, it does lack a few features that dedicated PC gaming monitors would have, such as USB ports and duel-screen capabilities. The button placement is also a bit awkward, with buttons placed on the bottom of the screen, but this may not be an issue to many.
There aren’t many monitor options that are catered to every kind of gamer there could be. The Dell Gaming Monitor is one of those rare options, though, making both PC and Console gamers happy.

3. ASUS VS278Q-P 27-Inch Full HD
1080p Gaming Monitor
Asus is one of the best monitor makers around and it’s easy to know why, when you see the Asus VS278Q-P. This monitor is expensive, but conisdering its insane amounts of features I’d say it’s more than worth the price.
Check Out The Asus VS278Q’s Current Price On Amazon
When looking for a gaming monitor, most people want something that looks and plays amazing. If that’s you, then Asus definitely has a monitor that accomplishes both of those things. The Asus VS278Q is a huge 27-inch 1080p monitor that sports a really nice design.
The VS278Q-P just isn’t big however, but it also has a 1ms response time, which is very important for any online gamer who’s trying to stay as competitive as they can. This monitor also has really deep color contrasts that give this Asus monitor a more natural look. The Asus VS278Q-P also has built-in speakers. They aren’t the best, but it’s great to have that option.
The only things that would even be considered cons for this monitor would have to be the stand and the low refresh rate. It’s not the worst thing in the world, but I just find it to be slightly unstable at times which is something you should be aware of. In general refresh rate wouldn’t matter, but considering the price, you’d think that it would have a much higher one.
2. Samsung SE330 Series 27-Inch FHD Monitor
For the price, the Samsung SE330 is easily one of the best 1080p gaming monitors you can get under $150(at the the time of this writing ). Considering that it’s such a steal I’d have to recommend to people who’re just looking for the best bang for their buck. This is truly a great monitor.
Check Out The Samsung SE330’s Current Price On Amazon
So far on our list, while there have been many great monitors, a majority of them have been in the higher price range. Luckily to remedy that, Samsung comes to the rescue with a great, and more affordable, gaming monitor.
While not the cheapest of monitors on our list, the Samsung comes with an affordable price tag near the $140 dollar range. This makes this monitor a great choice for those that may have found some of our other monitors a bit pricey.
Despite the lower price tag of the Samsung, you get a monitor that will give you the most out of your gaming experience. With an automatic upscaler and a gaming mode, the Samsung is able to give gamers an immersive experience that provides the best possible visuals. That’s just the beginning though, this monitor also features a 1ms response time and is 27 inches. You also have the eye saver mode for those longer gaming sessions.
You’d think that at such a great price, this monitor would have some major drawback, but the only one that this monitor has is the fact that it doesn’t have a dvi port and its relatively low refresh rate (60mhz). If those don’t mean much to you, this is a steal!
